Fellowships
American Democracy Institute
Background:
The American Democracy Institute (ADI) is a 501(c)3
non-profit, non-partisan organization that identifies and recruits young social, political,
business, and civic leaders from around the country in order to prepare them to
solve problems and shape the future of our country. We believe that a changing
world calls for leaders who are equipped with cutting-edge communications
skills, innovative ideas and collaborative opportunities to effect positive
change in our country.
At this point in time, ADI functions at two levels of participation. First, ADI summits provide inspiration, education, and activation for thousands of young people, age 16-24. These one-day events include dynamic keynote speeches by national leaders, interactive workshops led by respected practitioners, and the chance to network with peers and connect with local organizations.
Second, ADI's Leadership Program serves a rising generation of leaders age 25-45, selected for their records of accomplishment, circles of influence, and commitment to positive change. Participants include leaders in business and finance, media and technology, marketing and design, labor, elected officials, scientists, professors and activists. They are emerging leaders who are generating ideas, persuading the public, governing effectively, setting trends, winning elections, developing policies, organizing activists, and implementing strategies that are shaping the future of our country. These are people who are already at work affecting social change but who lack the information and network they need to make a national impact. ADI provides them with the opportunity to learn about new trends, collaborate on projects, and access a national network of passionate peers and experienced leaders.
